Don Ewing: Affordability is not as high as Biden and Obama admins

Why didn’t politicians and media complain about affordability when Joe Biden’s inflation hit 9% and gas prices, adjusted for inflation, far exceeded the current prices? Biden's administration was $5.38 in May 2022 and Barack Obama's administration was $5.60 in May 2011 (tinyurl.com/3c4fbfsr). Maybe they don’t care about high prices when a Democrat is president.

High gas, and other, prices were Biden’s and Obama’s objectives to support their climate change hoax. Donald Trump works for lower prices. Gas prices are temporarily high because we needed to respond to Iran’s 47 year war against us by preventing them from getting nuclear weapons. Every president since Jimmy Carter said Iran mustn’t get nuclear weapons. Only Trump cared enough about American lives to stop them.

Fortunately Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill (that every Congressional Democrat voted against) gave most Americans a significant tax cut. No tax on tips, overtime, or social security; the standard deduction increase; the child tax credit increase; the increased property tax deduction; deductibility of interest on U.S. made car loans; all of which help most Americans.

Trump’s policies inspire investment that create jobs for American workers. The median household income is higher than ever at $87,460; Americans in poverty, and children in poverty declined to all-time lows (tinyurl.com/493retju).

Trump’s law enforcement focus has reduced the murder rate to the lowest in 125 years (tinyurl.com/38hshxm7). From his inauguration through April, 2026, drug overdose deaths declined monthly, totaling about 118,400 saved lives (tinyurl.com/4r6mcm92). Maybe a child, grandchild, spouse, or someone else readers care about is alive because of Trump’s actions.

More importantly, we won’t awake in the near future to find Iran bombing American, or allied countries’, with nuclear weapons. When Iran’s nuclear threats end, gas and other prices will decline substantially and the free world can breathe easier. Thanks President Trump.
