To The Daily Sun,
Rep. Travis Corcoran’s use of the term “final solution” as a “joke” is appalling. I remember, as a child, my great uncle sobbing “they’re all gone, they’re all gone.” Subsequently I learned, his entire village in Russia was one of the many Jewish areas that suffered mass extermination by the Nazis in World War II. I have other memories of overwhelming grief and survivor guilt in my family and community. The horror continues across generations.
Those Belknap representatives who voted not to censure Rep. Corcoran: Glen Aldrich, Steven Bogert, Tom Ploszaj and Paul Terry. Absent not excused: Russ Dumais, Travis Toner, Doug Trottier and Peter Varney. Absent excused: Matt Coker.
I would like to ask each of these representatives why they feel it is acceptable to “joke” about the murder of six million human beings.
