Amber Schaefer: Looking forward to serving residents of Belknap District 1

To The Daily Sun,

As the newly-elected state representative for Belknap County District 1, I write to thank everyone who voted in our recent election, regardless of whether they voted for or against me. I am especially grateful to the residents of Center Harbor and New Hampton who opened their doors to me when I knocked while canvassing through the summer and fall. Their input helped shape my campaign and will guide me going forward.

Together, we can make progress on the issues that concern us all. Let’s work to provide the kind of public education our kids deserve, ensure access to quality healthcare and protect the environment that makes our district so special — and to come up with creative solutions to the challenges we face with regard to reining in property taxes and providing affordable housing. Elected officials do not have a monopoly when it comes to problem solving.

Once in office, I will reach out to alert constituents to town hall meetings and will provide legislative updates via social media and my website, Amber4NH.com.

I look forward to serving the residents of District 1’s two towns.
