Concord Police arrested a Franklin man Tuesday in connection with a robbery that occurred during a botched Facebook Marketplace sale outside the Forty Eddy Road Petco last month.

Octavio Mercedes, 24, was charged with four felonies: robbery, criminal threatening, reckless conduct and felonious use of a firearm.

An individual told police he went to the Petco parking lot on April 14 to buy an iPhone, but the prospective seller pointed a gun at him. Police declined to say what Mercedes is accused of stealing.

Police said they relied on surveillance footage, search warrants and interviews during their investigation.

Mercedes was arraigned in Concord District Court on Wednesday.

An individual bearing Mercedes’ name and age was arrested in 2018 by the Plaistow Police Department and charged with receiving stolen property. He pleaded guilty and avoided jail time, according to the state court docket.
