Lighting for Charles G. Burrows Memorial Athletic Field located at Inter-Lakes Middle High School, in Meredith, is becoming a reality. Materials were delivered on June 18, and since then, crews with Systems Electrical Service were installing the light fixtures at the field. Members of the public took morning laps around the track as work continued Wednesday morning. The $359,000 project through Music Sports Lighting was approved by voters at the Inter-Lakes School District meeting in March, with more than half coming from fundraising by the Grandparents Club, and the remaining $132,837 coming through taxation. Athletic Director Sarah Dumais said the goal is to have the lights operational by the end of July, and an opening ceremony is expected to take place between the soccer and football games on Friday, Sept. 11.
