Laconia commemorated Memorial Day with a ceremony Monday morning at Veterans Square. Speakers included American Legion Post 1 members Sergeant-at-Arms Raymond Peavey, Chaplain William Davies, Commanders Charles Reynolds and Frank Mello Jr., and President Shirley Brummer, along with Mayor Mike Bordes, and local author David Bergquist. The ceremony concluded with the laying of a wreath, a gun salute, and a performance of "Taps."
