TILTON — Led by Tilton Historical Society Chair John Ciriello, around 90 people traveled to Park Cemetery Saturday for the Tilton Historical Society’s History and Hauntings tour.

Attendees were led through the cemetery, stopping at various graves and crypts to view historic markers and hear from volunteers about the history of persons buried there.

Ciriello, dressed in Colonial garb, told visitors about the history of the cemetery and of the surrounding towns as he led a march from location to location, where other members of the historical society and volunteers, also dressed in period regalia, waited their turn to speak.

“We have a ton of stories about the people who are buried here,” Ciriello said.

Speakers highlighted the lives and stories of those who walked the streets of the town in centuries past.

The tour has been run before, but this year marked the first time the historical society led it.
