GILFORD — A man died Tuesday morning in an accident at Gilford Home Center.

Gilford Police Lt. Adam VanSteensburg said the man was not an employee of the home center, but was a delivery driver bringing lumber in. It appears a pallet of lumber fell on the driver during the unloading process.

The “medical examiner is coming out. It doesn’t appear that there’s anything criminal this point, and it appears to be more of a workplace accident," said VanSteensburg.

The Gilford Fire Department was on scene at the lumber yard as police detectives conducted their investigation.

Gilford PD is working to identify the man and notify next of kin.
