MOULTONBOROUGH — Charges against HBO star Nicholas Braun in an alleged drunk driving incident in August have been dropped, according to court documents.

The “Succession” star was charged with driving under the influence on Lee Road on Aug. 29, after being pulled over without headlights on driving a Hyundai Tucson. Documents from the 3rd Circuit District Court in Ossipee show the case will not proceed. The court database's register of actions lists a Nov. 4 disposition dismissing the case.

Braun, 37, with an address listed in Los Angeles, was represented by Sarah Landres of Shaheen & Gordon based out of Concord. Attempts to reach Landres were unsuccessful.

According to the case summary, Landres appeared on behalf of Braun on Sept. 12, pleading not guilty on his behalf. A formal reading of charges was scheduled for Sept. 16, and later canceled.

Repeated requests for information from town police were unsuccessful throughout the court proceedings. Police Chief Peter Beede declined to provide charging documents related to the incident, citing the ongoing investigation and pending toxicology results.

A Sept. 3 press release from the department stated, “It is the practice of the Moultonborough Police Department to not release any police reports, cruiser video, body worn camera, etc. during prosecution of any individual arrested by this agency, except to the defendant and/or the defendant’s attorney through the discovery process.”

Braun had been released from police custody on a promise to return to court, and court documents list an outstanding $60 owed.
