LACONIA — One person is being charged with assault and reckless conduct with a gun, following a domestic altercation last week, where no one was injured.
Parker Peavey, 20, is charged with three counts of domestic violence simple assault, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, unlawful alcohol possession or intoxication, and obstructing the report of a crime.
City police responded to a 911 hangup call at a duplex on Union Avenue at approximately 1:59 a.m. on June 14. When they came into the entryway, an officer heard yelling from upstairs. As they approached the third floor, they heard yelling from that floor. As they got close to the apartment door, officers heard a sound they thought was a round being chambered into a pistol.
“The officer heard a voice, and heard somebody say, ‘You make me do this. This is what you make me do,'” said Police Chief Matt Canfield in an interview. At the same time, officers heard crying in the apartment.
A young man, later identified as Peavey, answered the door, and officers discovered a domestic disturbance between him and a woman. There was a dispute over a loaded, black 45-caliber pistol, which Peavey threatened to use to shoot himself.
The woman involved was not charged, and officers reported no injuries.
