LACONIA — A local transient will serve at least six months in confinement after pleading guilty to possessing a stolen motor vehicle.
Sharilynn Patno, 24, no fixed address, pleaded guilty in Belknap Superior Court last week to a charge of theft by unauthorized taking.
Judge Tina Nadeau sentenced Patno to 12 months in the House of Correction. Six months of the sentence will be suspended provided Patno participates in drug/alcohol treatment and counseling, as well as mental health counseling, according to court records.
Once released, Pato will also be required to serve one year on probation. She will also need to show good behavior for two years from the time she leaves the House of Correction. She will receive credit for the 68 days she has already spent in confinement prior to her plea and sentencing hearing.
As part of the negotiated plea, the Belknap County Attorney’s Office dropped a burglary charge against Patno.
