LACONIA — Two stolen snowmobiles have been recovered as part of an ongoing investigation by the Laconia Police Department.
A snowmobile trailer and two Ski-Doo snowmobiles, which police described as “high end,” were reported stolen, along with a dump trailer on Oct. 4.
Police Officer Holly Callanan and detectives were able to locate the snowmobile trailer at a local residence. After obtaining additional information, they found one of the snowmobiles at another local residence. Police later obtained a search warrant for a storage unit in the city where they located the second snow machine.
Police Chief Matt Canfield declined to identify the addresses where the trailers were taken from or where they were found, explaining he did not want to compromise the investigation.
Canfield said that police have a person of interest in the case, but as of Friday had not made any arrests.
Police are still looking for the dump trailer, described as a Hawk with the New Hampshire trailer plate number T482370.
