On Saturday, December 20, Kyle Chrisley, the son of Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley of Chrisley Knows Best and The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, was arrested in Tennessee after an officer alleged that the reality star resisted arrest, assaulted several first responders, and made threats against the lives of the responding officers.
TMZ was the first to report the news.
According to TMZ, an affidavit obtained by the site from Kyle Chrisley’s Saturday arrest in Rutherford County states that officers were dispatched after receiving a call alleging that Chrisley was making suicidal and homicidal threats. When officers arrived at the scene, it is alleged that Chrisley became aggressive with responding officers, refused to comply with commands, and eventually turned combative, engaging in a physical altercation that reportedly resulted in multiple injuries to officers.

TMZ also reported that officers at the scene said Chrisley yelled threats that he “would kill all of them.”
According to a statement his wife gave to responding officers, Chrisley had earlier threatened her with a fork at a restaurant. During the drive home, he allegedly continued yelling, causing her to fear for her safety.
The outlet further reported that officers believed Chrisley appeared to be under the influence. According to the affidavit, Kyle allegedly admitted to drinking approximately 64 ounces of beer at the restaurant before the incident.
Chrisley was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention in Tennessee on Saturday. According to county court records reviewed by USA Today, faces criminal charges of domestic assault, assault of law enforcement officers, public intoxication, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct following an alleged incident that day.
Chrisley has been in trouble with the law several times before this incident, with his most recent arrest taking place in September 2024 over an alleged aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
In March 2023, Kyle was arrested for felony aggravated assault after allegedly brandishing a “fixed blade” during an altercation with a supervisor at his job at a trucking company. However, he was released after posting a $3,000 bond, and the charges were dismissed before a trial. Kyle and his wife, Ashleigh, filed a lawsuit in August 2025 for $1.7 million over the arrest.

In 2019, Kyle opened up via Facebook about his ongoing drug problems and relationships with his family members.“I haven’t been the best dad to [daughter] Chloe,” he admitted. “I’ve had a problem with drugs, I’ve acted completely ridiculous, and through all that, [his parents] have stood by my side.”
“Nine months ago, I went to my dad with an apology,” Kyle added. “His words were ‘I love you always, and you are forgiven’ and just like that, I was welcomed back into his life with open arms. I will be forever grateful for his love [and] graciousness.'”
Kyle’s December 2025 arrest follows the presidential pardon given by President Donald Trump to Todd and Julie after they were convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud. They served 28 months of their prison sentences. (Julie originally received seven years, while Todd received 12 years.)
