William M. Bailey Jr., 73
GILMANTON — William "Bill" Morris Bailey Jr., 73, of Province Road, died Thursday, July 14, 2016, at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center surrounded by family.
Bill was born on Dec. 9, 1942, in Norwich, Connecticut, the son of the late William M. Bailey Sr. and Claire (Barthelmes) Bailey.
He was a graduate of Burdett College in Boston and worked for Gilchrest Company as a purchasing agent for many years. Bill was a resident of Everett, Massachusetts, for four years. After his father's retirement he moved to New Hampshire to take over his fathers business, W.M. Bailey 5 Cents to 1 Dollar Store. He owned and operated stores in Ashland, Tilton and Woodstock for 43 years until he retired in 2004.
Bill enjoyed dancing, snowmobiling, and playing bridge.
Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Siranoush "Sue" Shoushanian Bailey of Gilmanton; a brother-in-law and his wife, a sister-in-law, two nieces, one grand niece, three grand nephews, and many close friends.
There will be no calling hours. Burial will be Saturday, July 23, at 10 a.m. in the family lot at Woodstock Cemetery, in Woodstock. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 23, at 1 p.m. at the Gilmanton Community Church, 497 Province Road, Gilmanton, NH 03237.
