MANCHESTER — Robert John “Bobby” Boyle passed away on Aug. 6, 2026. Bobby lived a life defined by curiosity, humor, kindness and connection.
Born April 8, 1953, at St. Albans Naval Hospital in Queens, New York, Bobby spent his life in New Hampshire. He attended Pembroke Academy, then Plymouth State University and Keene State College, playing baseball at both. Nicknamed “Strong-Armed Bob,” he pitched his way to a New Hampshire American Legion Baseball state championship and was a lifelong Yankees, Celtics and Patriots fan.
Bobby worked with his family at Boyle Associates before owning a bookstore in Concord.
He found joy in music, history, battlefields, and visits to the White Mountains, Lake Winnipesaukee, and York Beach. Known for his wit and generous spirit, he never met a stranger.
He is survived by daughters Mallory Enos (George) and Julia Boyle; siblings Denise (Mark) Van der Voort, Anne (George) Yankopoulos, and Thomas (Noelle) Boyle; nieces and nephews; and Patty Roy, mother of his children and lifelong friend. He was predeceased by parents Robert and Janice Boyle.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bobby's memory to the Prospects Athletics Foundation, 159 Frontage Road, Manchester, NH 03103, in support of youth baseball and softball.
A committal service will be held at Bayside Cemetery, in Laconia, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 5, followed by a celebration of life.
