MEREDITH — Linda Melcher Brown, 75, of Jenness Hill Road, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family, on July 7, 2024.

Linda was born on Dec. 3, 1948, in Plymouth, the daughter of Oscar and Myrtle (Kidder) Melcher.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Linda worked as a teacher in Portsmouth then went on to work at Hart’s Turkey Farm in Meredith for 47 years.

She enjoyed birds, gardening and traveling to Florida and Alaska. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Russell Brown; sons Kevin Brown and his wife Nicole and Russell Brown Jr. and his wife Gina; daughter Shelly Brown Batchelder and her husband Jack; five grandchildren, Samantha Batchelder, Nathan Batchelder, Katie Brown, Sabrina Brown and Molly Brown; two great-grandchildren, Stanley Batchelder and Lucas Jobin-Valentino; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Linda is predeceased by several aunts and uncles.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held at noon on Saturday, July 20, at Village Cemetery, Pinnacle Hill Road, New Hampton.

A celebration of life will follow the burial at 1 p.m. at Hart’s Turkey Farm, 233 Daniel Webster Hwy.
