It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Leonard E. Pickering, who left us on Oct. 1, 2024, at the age of 54. Leonard was born on Feb. 13, 1970, in Concord, and was a cherished resident of Northfield.
A devoted son, father, brother, and partner, Leonard is survived by his loving mother, Elizabeth Bosiak of Epsom; his devoted fiancée, Debra Spriggs, of Northfield; and his stepchildren, Rebecca, Andrew, Jeremy. He was a proud father to his daughter, Mariah Pickering-Hall and her wife Kahara Hall of Manchester, and leaves his grandchildren, Lillian, Madelyn, Kaylee, Avery, Levi and Ava. Leonard also leaves behind his brother, Michael Pickering, and Michael's wife, Shirley, of Pembroke; his stepmother, Stacey Pickering of Northfield; and many, many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, John Pickering.
Leonard was a dedicated truck driver, contributing his skills and passion to Phoenix Precast, where he was well-respected and valued by his colleagues and peers. He also worked part-time as an oil delivery driver for Joels Oil in Canterbury and was a training instructor at Commercial Driving School in Concord for many years. His hobbies included working on small engines, guns, karate, 4-wheeling, watching movies and helping people whenever he could.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Smart Memorial Home, 584 W. Main St. in Tilton, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, to celebrate Leonard’s life and legacy. A private graveside service will be held later for family members at Lake View Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Lenny’s memory may be made to the NH Humane Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Smart Memorial Home. Leonard’s kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering love for those around him will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
