John M. Pastuszak, 87
FRANKLILN — John M. Pastuszak, 87, of Franklin died on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017.
He was born in Franklin on June 30, 1929, the son of Michael and Antonia (Krauze) Pastuszak.
He was a lifelong resident of Franklin and attended local schools. He also attended trade school in Boston training as an auto body mechanic.
John served in the Navy from 1946 until honorably discharged in 1950. He married his wife, Florence (Robichaud) Pastuszak, in 1952. He was a communicant of St. Gabriel Parish where he was an altar server for several years.
Several years ago, he worked at Scott & Williams in Laconia and later at Arwood's (Wyman-Gordon) for several years, retiring in 1991. Following retirement, John volunteered at Merrimack County Nursing Home and enjoyed woodworking.
His wife, Florence (Robichaud) Pastuszak died in 2014.
Family members include his children, Karen Woodward of Lebanon, Michael Pastuszak and wife Paula of Laconia, David Pastuszak and wife Darlene of Clinton, Connecticut, James Pastuszak and wife Karen of Rupert, West Virginia, Anne Pastuszak of Franklin, and Thomas Pastuszak on Fountain Hill, Arizona; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a sister, Helen Robichaud of Attleboro, Massachusetts; and nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Edward Pastuszak; five sisters, Julia Szostak, Bernice Risley, Nellie Kurowski, Loda Egounis, and Pauline Bozak; and two grandsons, Nathan and Brian Pastuszak.
Visiting hours will be Monday, Jan. 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating John's life will be held Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m. in St. Paul Church, 110 School St., Franklin. He will be buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in the spring. A luncheon, following the Mass, will be held at Franklin VFW Post 1698, Peabody Place, Franklin.
