Gerald “Jeri” F. Santy, 77, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, transitioned from this life peacefully on May 5, 2025 at his daughter Cher Santy’s home with his son, Chadwick Santy, and daughter Cher at his bedside.

Gerald was born on Jan. 25, 1948, in Laconia, the son of the late Gerald B. Santy and Eleanor T. (Trottier) Santy.

After graduating from Belmont High School, Jeri attended Belknap College in Center Harbor.

Jeri had a lifelong career in all aspects of construction, including “roof to the road” knowledge. With the construction knowledge he had obtained, he decided to move to Charleston, South Carolina, to assist in the rebuilding process after Hurricane Hugo on Sept. 21, 1989.

Gerald had a flair for life. He talked about his faith in God daily, loved playing baseball, golf (his favorite), fishing, hunting, traveling throughout the United States, visiting in New Hampshire to see all his loved ones, friends and family, loved his dogs and cats. He even made a TV commercial in Charleston, South Carolina, for a company called “Gerald’s Tire & Brakes, LLC.” He was so excited to be on TV regularly. There was never a moment in his life where he would not stop people to say hello and shake their hands just to be friendly. He loved everyone.

Gerald is survived by Linda Santy of Meredith; his brothers Brent Santy of Gilford, and Preston Santy of Sunapee; his children, Chadwick Santy of Alton, Cher Santy of South Carolina, Shea Santy of Meredith, and Shane Santy of Meredith; his grandchildren, Asia, Autumn, Amber and Kendall; and his great-grandson Jax of South Carolina.

The entire family wishes to say thank you to Cher Santy for showing the love, support and care she gave to her Dad throughout the years together in Charleston, South Carolina, and especially the caregiving support she showed in the final days of his life.

A graveside service is currently being planned for late July at the family cemetery, Barnstead Parade Cemetery in Barnstead. Everyone will be notified as soon as a date has been determined.
