Dennis Michael Trottier, 65, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on March 13, 2026.
Born and raised in Franklin, Dennis was a man of many talents and hobbies. He was an avid painter who enjoyed expressing his creativity through art. In his free time, he loved playing cards — especially cribbage — gardening, and spending time outdoors. Dennis never met a conversation he couldn’t improve with a well-timed sarcastic comment, something those who knew him will remember fondly.
Above all else, Dennis treasured the time he spent with his family and grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
Dennis was a devoted husband and is survived by his beloved wife, Betsy (Akerman) Trottier, with whom he shared 42 precious years of marriage.
He was a proud stepfather to John Coates, and Ernie Coates Jr. and his wife Shelley.
He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Gage Coates and his wife Vanessa, Nikki Bellavia and her husband Louis, and Noel Mondore. Dennis was also the proud great-grandfather of Aubriella Mondore, Colton Coy, Jackson Coy, Rayleigh Coy, and Watson Bellavia, with another great-grandchild on the way.
Dennis was predeceased by his mother, Rachel (Morrison) Trottier; his nephew Shawn Sargent; his grandfather Leon Trottier Sr.; and his grandmother Isabelle Trottier; and is survived by his father, Leon Trottier Jr.
He is also survived by his siblings, Debbie Sargent and her husband Doug, Clara French, Douglas Trottier and his wife Vanessa, David Trottier and his wife Betty, and John Moore and his wife Debra; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Dennis will be remembered for his love of family, his creativity, his humor, and the joy he brought to those around him.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, at the Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin, with a service to follow. For more information, visit neunfuneralhomes.com.
