Cynthia Hicks, 73

Cynthia Hicks (nee Zamaria), age 73, born March 15, 1950, passed away Jan. 22, 2024.

Cindy was the cherished wife of Charlie Hicks. She was the daughter of the late Stephen J. and Ann Zamaria (nee Scherback), and the beloved sister of Ann Carbone (Ross P., deceased), Christina Snell (Jeff), and the late Stephen J. Zamaria Jr. (Judy). She was the dear aunt of Allison Carbone Spinos (Alex) and Ross Carbone Jr., Matthew and Patrick Zamaria (Andrea), and Kim Snell Blanchard (Scott) and Jeff Snell (Katie); and the great-aunt of Kevin, Noah and Luke Spinos, Amie and J.J. Blanchard, and Isabel and Zeke Zamaria.

Cindy was beloved by her many Detroit, Milan and Youngstown relatives, and embraced friendships with Alexandra Hicks, Stacy (Hicks) Kloepfer, and Stacy’s son Jackson.

She was a loyal fan of her hometown teams, a golfer and tennis player, active in several groups and clubs, and an enthusiastic traveler. She loved especially her many journeys to Bristol and Camden, Maine, and her trips to Europe with Sonia Coulton and Marge Granzier.

Cindy was a wonderful person and a great friend. Her deep faith and love for life fortified her through her long illness. Her final act of kindness was the donation of her body to Cleveland Clinic’s Lerner College of Medicine.

A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 15, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael Church, 525 Dover Center Road, Bay Village, OH. Friends will be received at the church starting at 10 a.m.
