CRESTVIEW, Fla. — Alvin "Al" Louis Larson, 88, formerly of Sanbornton, New Hampshire, passed peacefully surrounded by family at his daughter’s home in Crestview.

Al was born Oct. 5, 1935, in Laconia, to the late Clarence A. Larson and Annette G. (Collins) Larson.

Al was an active member of the community, owner of Larson’s Mobile Structures. He served as past worshipful master of the Mount Lebanon Masonic Lodge, member of Scottish Rite Valley of Concord 32nd Degree, past president of the Winnipesaukee Shrine Club, member of the Tilton-Northfield Rotary and longtime member of the Winnisquam Fire Department.

Al will be remembered for his great stories. He loved sharing his hunting, fishing and life experiences with everyone and his love for children, as he worked closely with the Shriners Hospital to get many children the medical care they needed.

Al is survived by his brother Richard Larson of Snohomish, Washington, his daughter Karen Larson-Hays, former city clerk of Dover, and cherished son-in-law George Hays of Crestview, Florida, grandson Ross Carignan, great-granddaughter Cadence Carignan of Hooksett, New Hampshire, and many nieces and nephews.

A joint graveside ceremony will be held for Al and his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Larson, who previously passed. It was their wish to be buried together. Their graveside service will be held at the Union Cemetery, Woodman Road, Sanbornton, New Hampshire, on May 18 at 1 p.m. A friends and family reception will follow at Steele Hill Resort, where the two first met.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Alvin’s name to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, shrinerschildrens.org/en/giving or to St. Jude at stjude.org/donate.
