LACONIA — Retired Air Force colonels Henry J. Dahlquist and William J. Moran Jr. have been pilots for 50 years. Both have been submitted for the FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, which recognizes pilots who have practiced safe flight operations continuously for 50 or more years during their aviation careers.

Dahlquist completed a commercial pilot career as an American 767 captain. He continued his flying career as a CAP C-182T mission pilot and director of NH CAP Emergency Services.

Moran completed his Air Force career as a B-1B squadron command and pilot and continued flying as a CAP C-182T mission pilot. Moran is currently the Laconia CAP squadron commander and former New Hampshire wing commander.

Both pilots have 49 years of Air Force service in either active duty, air national guard auxiliary.
