LACONIA — The Family Resource Center of Central New Hampshire, 719 North Main Street, is offering a wide variety of parenting programs this winter for parents and caregivers with children of all ages.

All classes are currently held, free of charge, via Zoom and most class times start in the early evenings. Advance registration is requested for each program as space is limited.

Parenting classes scheduled for this winter include: Parenting a Second Time Around (8 weeks beginning Feb. 16) offers support to grandparents and other relatives who are parenting again, covering topics such as child development, discipline, caring for yourself as a caregiver, rebuilding a family, and legal issues.

Positive Discipline Practices & Techniques (6 weeks beginning March 10). This module from the popular “Nurturing Skills” series focuses on discipline that is based on respect, empowerment, caring and cooperation. Participants will learn the power of non-violent discipline practices & techniques.

Parenting Journey (12 weeks beginning March 10) is designed for parents and caregivers who want to learn more about themselves, their relationships, and the resources they need to effectively parent their children. In a warm and nurturing environment, participants are supported and encouraged to care for themselves and each other, while participating in a series of experiential exercises.

Attendance certificates will be provided at all parenting programs sponsored by Lakes Region Community Services, Family Resource Center of Central New Hampshire.
