FRANKLIN — Following a nationwide search for a new superintendent Daniel LeGallo has been chosen to lead the Franklin/Hill SAU 18 School Districts. Currently the Principal of Lamprey River Elementary School in Raymond, N.H. LeGallo said, "I am looking forward to leading the Franklin and Hill School Districts as its next Superintendent of Schools. For the past nine years LeGallo has been principal of the Lamprey River Elementary School; he was promoted to that position after serving as the assistant principal. Prior to those appointments LeGallo was the district-wide mathematics curriculum director for Raymond High School; in tandem with that role, he held a part-time faculty position at the high school as a math instructor. LeGallo began his teaching career at Iber Holmes Gove Middle School in Raymond.
Timothy Dow, Sr., Chairman of the Franklin/Hill SAU 18 School Board, highlighted LeGallo's, "Common sense, and practical, down to earth presence," which "[will] make an impact in the community and with students and staff."
Mr LeGallo has years of experience in both teaching and learning. Mr LeGallo is married to his wife Maureen, who is also in education in Bedford, N.H. They have three elementary-aged children.
The SAU 18 School Board selected LeGallo from a field of eight applicants. The three finalists spent a day touring the Franklin and Hill School Districts engaging in dialogue with students, parents, faculty, staff, and community members followed by a final interview before the SAU School Board. Michelle Munson of the New Hampshire School Boards Association served as consultant for the search process. LeGallo assumes his position as Superintendent of Schools of SAU 18 on July 1, 2015.
