BRISTOL — The Tapply Thompson Community Center had 425 people come through the outdoor version of Santa's Village on Dec. 11.
TTCC thanks the amazing volunteers they had setting up for this event all day on a rainy Saturday and then coming back again on Sunday to help clean up. Without them, none of this is possible. You know who you are, and we appreciate each and every one of you for all you do to make this such a special community event.
TTCC has not been able to host Santa's Village like normal these past two years, but they haven't cancelled either. This tradition — in its 67th year — continues on, even during a pandemic.
This year's village had an inflatable welcome party, the North Pole Train Station, a Christmas Village, the Toy Shop with Santa's Elves, Mrs. Claus's Cookie Kitchen, a Dancing Reindeer and of course Mrs. Claus and Santa himself.
Cars drove through the middle school parking lot to check out this magical holiday event. Everyone got a toy from the toyshop, one of Mrs. Claus's famous cookies & a special commemorative Santa's Village ornament.
The weather at the beginning of the day was not good, and we weren't sure this was the best plan or that we'd be able to pull it off. But again, with this amazing group of volunteers — they stuck with it, pulled everything together and made it happen. It was a very special and fun night.
A special thank you to the Newfound Memorial Middle School for use of the parking lot and to Ready Equipment for donating use of generators.
For anyone that missed out — please enjoy these pictures and we'll try to post a few videos as well. If anyone wasn't able to go but still wants an ornament — stop by the TTCC and get one.
