ASHLAND — Ashland Elementary School students recently enjoyed enthusiastic assemblies presented by the PSU TIGER program. TIGER (which stands for Theater Integrating Guidance, Education, and Responsibility) is a powerful and exciting collaboration between the Integrated Arts and Counselor Education graduate programs at Plymouth State University.

Students in grades 6 – 8 participated in the Tiger Think Tank where they used theater to work though handling gossip, advocating for themselves, finding confidence in their individuality and empathizing with the people around them.

Later in the day, TIGER performers Kelly McGowan, Cassie Cutting, Olives Etchings, Matthew J. Murray and Nam Nguyen presented their Brand New Day program to the AES Kindergarten to grade five students. The performers urged the students to incorporate kindness, thoughtfulness and inclusion into their daily interactions with others.
