PLYMOUTH — Ever since groomed snowmobile trails have passed within eyeball distance of ski areas, performance-oriented riders have imagined what it would be like to race their sleds up the slopes ... in a legal manner. In late March 2025, they'll have that opportunity.
Officials at X Racing have organized a second consecutive weekend of racing at historic Tenney Mountain March 28-30, as two sanctioning bodies join forces for the first time to produce a unique Super XC race on a specially designed 1-mile course.
Along with the main Super XC race, this event will feature a KaBOOM Freestyle show and Sunday Funday program with classes for all ages and ability levels. It's a second straight weekend of winter-time fun in a spectacular, scenic setting.
“Response has been overwhelming since we announced our inaugural NH Mountain Sled Fest at Tenney Mountain on March 21-23,” X Racing President Joe Duncan said. “Along with the snocross, hillcross and Sunday Funday programs at Sled Fest, we wanted to offer another discipline of racing.
“I've been talking with Adirondack Cross Country Series Director Justin Brandt about putting something like this together. We believe it will be an exciting event, one where a lot of guys can come have some big fun on the hill. We're hoping teams from around the region will come compete on a unique stage.”
