HOLDERNESS — Squam Lakes Natural Science Center recently acquired a new compact, rugged all-terrain vehicle through the support of daSilva Motorsports, the Helen Clay Frick Foundation, and The Madelaine G. von Weber Trust. This gift will transform the Science Center’s daily operations, allowing animal care staff to respond immediately to animal health concerns, deliver specialized diets and fresh water more efficiently, transport enrichment materials and habitat supplies, and conduct safe animal transfers for veterinary procedures.

The new vehicle will improve workflow and reduce the physical strain on staff, allowing for several hours per week to be redirected from transport logistics to the hands-on work of animal-centered care. The result is more time dedicated to behavioral training, closer health monitoring, and more individualized support for aging or specialized-needs animal residents.

“These partnerships directly strengthen our ability to provide exceptional care to our wildlife ambassadors,” said Executive Director of Squam Lakes Natural Science Center Iain MacLeod. “Their support helps ensure each animal receives the highest standards of physical, behavioral, and psychological welfare while allowing our staff to work more safely and efficiently.”
