MEREDITH — Meredith Parks and Recreation will host the annual Mae Hart Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day — Thursday, Nov. 28 — at the Meredith Community Center. The deadline to sign up is Friday, Nov. 15.
Hart’s Turkey Farm Restaurant has partnered with the Meredith Parks and Recreation Department for many years to provide this meal. Deliveries are also available for those in Meredith, Center Harbor or New Hampton who are homebound and unable to come to the center.
The meal will take place at the Meredith Community Center starting at noon with doors opening at 11:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday Nov. 28, and the meal delivery will be made between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
This special meal is a long-time tradition thanks to the generosity of Mae Hart, the Hart family matriarch, who promoted community spirit and believed no one should eat alone on Thanksgiving Day. The Hart family has continued her tradition since 1988.
Anyone wishing to dine in or would like a meal delivered, contact the Meredith Parks and Recreation Department at 603-279-8197 or sperkins@meredithnh.org.
