MEREDITH — The Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra will hold its season-opening concert on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m., at Inter-Lakes Auditorium.
Featured will be the winner of the 2018 Student Concerto and Scholarship Competition, pianist Penny Brant. She will perform the first movement of Edvard Grieg’s “Piano Concerto No. 1 in A minor.”
The concerto competition is entering its 10th year.
Brant, this year’s winner, was born in 2002 in Beijing, China, and began studying piano with Gregg Pauley when she moved to U.S. at age 12.
