MOULTONBOROUGH  The Moultonborough Women’s Club is gearing up for another fun year, full of exciting and interesting activities that promote friendship, education and community philanthropy. The year kicked off with a Scholarship Bake Sale at the Primary Election on Sept. 8 at Moultonborough Academy. Under the expert coordination by committee co-chairs Nancy Slaney and Marie Mayotte, MWC members offered delicious treats to voters for donations which go directly into the Scholarship Fund. Thanks to the town’s generosity (and sweet tooth), the club has awarded over $237,000 in scholarships to deserving Moultonborough students since 1960.

The first meeting of the club year is the traditional Coffee Can Auction held at the beautiful Geneva Point Center on Monday, Sept. 14, but members have been having fun all summer, due to the tireless work of the Activities Committee, co-chaired by Mary Bishop and Jan Flanagan. There have been luncheons, book club meetings, weekly Mexican Train Dominoes games and there is so much more planned for the coming year.
