Moultonborogh Recreation Department will offer two programs focused on tai chi and yoga.
Tai Chi for adults will start April 2 and be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6-7 p.m. Board Certified Tai Chi Instructor Ernie Graffam will return to offer 16 classes over eight weeks. The focus of this program is arthritis and fall prevention. Tai Chi is a series of gentle exercises and stretches. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion. Please wear sneakers or flat sole shoes, comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle.
A chair yoga program will begin April 15 and be held on Mondays, 10:30-11:30 a.m. for six weeks. The course will use a mat, yoga blocks and a yoga strap with the option of adding light hand weights. Attendees are welcome to bring their own or use ones provided. Chair Yoga provides gentle, mindful movements to gain flexibility and core strength. This practice will aid in reducing pain, stiffness, stress, and anxiety. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle.
