MEREDITH ― Celebrate National Library Week with the staff of the Meredith Public Library.

The national theme this year is "Find Your Joy." A good place to start finding joy is with free cookie treats and hot beverages (including coffee, tea, and hot chocolate) all week long located across from the circulation desk.

Library fans will also love the display of library theme books located on the first floor. Choices include non-fiction as well as mysteries and cozies all set in libraries. Since the library has already launched the Adult Summer Reading Program this year, these checkouts count toward earning an entry for the big prize drawings on Aug. 1. Patrons will still have the opportunity to win prizes this week, too. The popular library prize wheel will be out all week to spin and win instantly for everyone.

National Library Week runs from Tuesday, April 21 to Saturday, April 25.

In honor of National Library Workers Day, the library Trustees have decided to close the library on Tuesday, April 21, from noon to 1:30 p.m. to provide a Staff Appreciation Luncheon.

The American Library Association created National Library Workers Day in 2003. It created National Library Week in 1958 as "An annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities."
