HOLDERNESS — Squam Lakes Natural Science Center will hold a lecture for adults, called "Tracking Ticks in New Hampshire Through Community Science," on Wednesday, July 12, from  6 to 7 p.m.

BeBop Labs, a nonprofit that is the only organization tracking ticks in the state, has created a globally recognized tick research program and database with the help of community scientists.

Kaitlyn Morse, executive director and founder, will present the findings of the project, including what ticks are in the state, when they are found, what diseases they carry and how they are linked to climate change. This project sparks hands-on science within the community, empowering all who engage to take charge of their health every day.

There is no cost, but reservations are required. To register or to learn more, visit nhnature.org.
