GILFORD — The Opechee Garden Club invites its members to attend a presentation on silk floral arrangements with Jean Vaillancourt on Monday, April 7. The public is also welcome to attend.
Members and friends who want to do their own arrangement should bring flowers, real or silk, and a vase along with any necessary tools. Vaillancourt will assist attendees in making the arrangements look their best.
Vaillancourt has been a member of the garden club since 2007. In addition to floral arrangements, she enjoys sewing, quilting and jewelry making. Her garden was featured in the 2012 garden tour as well as her work on the holiday house decorations. Vaillancourt has lived in the Lakes Region for 25 years. Previously Vaillancourt lived in Connecticut, where she worked as a florist for several years making bridal and everyday arrangements.
The meeting will take place at Gilford Community Church on Potter Hill Road. Doors open at noon, and refreshments will be served at 12:30 p.m. At 1 p.m. will be a short meeting, followed by Vaillancourt's presentation.
