LACONIA — Fidium, New Hampshire's leading fiber internet and network services provider connecting people, businesses and communities with its 100% fiber-to-the-premise network, recently announced that it has earned top performance rankings for the Lakes Region and the state in Ookla’s analysis of Q1-Q2 2026 Speedtest Intelligence data.
Based on consumer-initiated testing, these results demonstrate Fidium's strength across download speed, upload speed, responsiveness, reliability and gaming experience.
Lakes Region highlights from Fidium’s Q1–Q2 2026 performance rankings:Â
- Fidium earned all four top local rankings (fastest upload, fastest download, most reliable and most responsive internet speeds) for Wolfeboro as well as for Carroll County
- Performance data results for Laconia show Fidium as having 230% faster upload speeds than the nearest competitor
- Conway performance data results ranked Fidium as having the fastest download, fastest upload and most responsive speeds
Statewide, Fidium swept all five performance categories, earning the state’s fastest download and upload speeds, lowest latency, most reliable internet and best gaming experience. The results include Fidium’s first statewide wins for download speed, reliability, and gaming experience, as well as statewide upload-speed results in New Hampshire that were 45% faster than the nearest competitor. In total, Fidium earned more than 130 top rankings across the state, including for the North Country, Seacoast, Lakes Region, Monadnock Region, Capital Region and Greater Manchester.
“From working and learning at home to video calls, high-intensity gaming and multiple connected devices, customers expect their internet to perform across everything they do,” said Dan Sumner, chief marketing officer of Fidium. “Ookla's Speedtest analysis demonstrates why Fidium’s symmetrical, 100% fiber network is a strong foundation for today’s connectivity needs and reinforces our position as the leading consumer choice for fast, responsive and reliable service in the markets we serve.”
Since 2020, Fidium has invested more than $2 billion in network infrastructure and is on track to surpass 2 million fiber passes by the end of 2027, including 1.5 million in northern New England.
“Our performance across northern New England is a powerful validation of our progress because it reflects both the scale of the network we have built and the measurable value it provides for customers,” said Gabe Waggoner, chief network officer of Fidium. “By expanding fiber access in rural and underserved areas in this region, we’re helping ensure more communities have the high-quality connectivity they need to participate in today’s economy, attract new opportunities and thrive for generations to come."
In total, Fidium earned 370 top performance rankings across 10 states, including:
- 152 wins for most responsive internet, with latency averaging 30% better than the second-place provider, including cable and wireless providers
- 108 wins for fastest upload speeds
- 52 markets where Fidium ranked first in at least three of four measured categories: download speed, upload speed, reliability and responsiveness
