NORTHFIELD - Hall Memorial Library will welcome Cedric the therapy dog to star in its new children’s program, Tales and Tails. This program will be held twice monthly on Mondays from 3 to 5 p.m. Children are welcome to drop in without a registration, to meet Cedric and practice reading aloud to him.

Cedric is a 3-year-old English Toy Spaniel. This is a rare breed and there are only a few hundred left in the United States. He started therapy work with his human, Meghann Belser, in 2020, but unfortunately COVID put a damper on visits for a while. Cedric has multiple American Kennel Club titles including Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog Intermediate, and is a Grand Champion (and halfway to being a Bronze Grand Champion). In 2021 he was the #1 Owner-Handled English Toy Spaniel in the United States with Meghann. “He loves to snuggle and give high fives. Hold your right hand low and in front of him and ask him!” suggests Meghann.

Parents, caregivers and children will be expected to review behavior guidelines before interacting with Cedric. Masks are required for this indoor program.
