ALTON — The New Hampshire Department of Transportation will begin a guardrail replacement project on Route 11 in Alton, from Wilbert Way to Minge Cove Road, on Monday, May 13, 2024. Temporary lane closures will impact traffic during the day for six-to-eight weeks.

This work is weather dependent and will require the use of temporary lane closures between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Road users will utilize one lane of alternating traffic to move through the temporary work zone. Message boards, flaggers, traffic control devices, and smart work zone devices will be used to notify the traveling public.

Motorists are encouraged to sign up for free, real-time construction and traffic related messages (text or email) from https://newengland511.org/.

This work is part of the Statewide Tier 2 Paving contract in the Lakes Region on NH Route 25 in Meredith-Center Harbor, NH Route 11 in Gilford, NH Route 11 in Alton and on NH Route 25 in Sandwich-Tamworth.

Pike Industries of Belmont is the general contractor for the $9.7 million project, which is scheduled for completion in fall 2025.
