BELMONT — The Friends of the Belmont Public Library is back this year with its Winter Raffle. The raffle has expanded to include not just a first prize of four Gunstock mid-week tubing tickets but also second through sixth prizes, which include a basket of best-selling books, Christmas platters, candles and gift cards to local area amenities.

“Interestingly, we’ve had the most interest in our second prize,” says Tina Benoit, an officer of the Friends group. “The basket of best-sellers includes 'Lessons in Chemistry' by Bonnie Garmus, 'The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo' by Taylor Jenkins Reid, as well as 'The Body Keeps The Score' by Bessel Van Der Kolk. These are books people are really excited about and there are eight of them! They're worth as much as the tubing passes!”

Tickets can be purchased at Belmont’s Library or online at GiveButter.com/Tubing

“We want to thank Gunstock for donating these tickets again this year,” notes Pauline Boyle, group president, “and MVSB for donating the basket of books.” She also adds, “And let people know that, as with last year, the chances of winning our raffle are really good!”

Winners will be posted on The Friends of the Belmont Public Library Facebook page, and they will be contacted directly on Monday, Dec. 18.
