LACONIA — WinnAero, Civil Air Patrol, the Laconia Airport Authority, and the Red Cross have joined forces to host a blood drive at the Laconia Airport, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 5.

The event will take place in Hangar No. 5 on Aviation Drive at the airport and kicks off a celebration of National Aviation History Month in November. Look for the Red Cross Bloodmobile at the hangar. New donors, as well as returning blood donors, are most welcome to help the Red Cross prepare for this upcoming holiday season by giving the gift of life.

It’s easy and only takes minutes to donate. Call 800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767) with any questions or to schedule a Nov. 5 appointment. Save time with the Red Cross’ recommended Advance Registration at redcrossblood.org/give.html/find-drive.

The Red Cross also offers an expedited donor pre-registration program online. Simply visit RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass to complete the pre-donation reading and health history questions. Persons with Type 0, B negative or A negative blood are especially needed.

“WinnAero, the STEM education for youth nonprofit, is pleased to team up with CAP, the LAA and the Red Cross to bring this critical event to the Laconia Airport” said Dan Caron, WinnAero educational programs director.
