GILFORD — The Gilford Parks and Recreation Department is planning a number of events for October.

One activity is fall hikes for any adults looking for a fun way to get outdoors on Tuesdays this fall.  Participants will gather each morning at 9:30 a.m. in the Gilford Town Hall Lobby before departing for the hike. All interested participants must RSVP at least one day in advance to each trip.

Another activity is a pick-up co-ed volleyball program for adults ages 18 and up, to be held every Tuesday, 7-9 p.m., in the Gilford Middle School Gymnasium. This program began on Sept. 30 and runs each Tuesday through the spring.

The next Senior Moment-um program is on Monday, Oct. 20, at the Gilford Community Church Fellowship Hall. The program will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a lunch featuring half-roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetables, rolls with butter, and a chef’s choice dessert, along with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and water. Following lunch, participants will enjoy Bingo games with a variety of prizes for the winners.
