MEREDITH — The week of Feb. 15 was Future Business Leaders of America week at Inter-Lakes Middle and High School.
The week started Sunday with FBLA Vice President Ellie Hornkohl sharing her FBLA story.
Monday was the beginning of healthy habits bingo. Everyone at ILMHS was invited to take part in challenges focused on exercise, mindfulness, education and healthy eating.
“Chair yoga is a D block favorite – they have done it three times this week,” said Billie Jo Sweeney, FBLA adviser, “but my C block is enjoying the five minute guided meditation and my B block is getting into the exercise."
Tuesday was postponed because of snow, but teachers enjoyed their day at home on Teacher Appreciation Day.
On Reading Wednesday, students spent time recording children’s books to share with younger grades and younger siblings.
Thursday was Community Service day and students made no-sew blankets. FBLA donated 20 blankets to The Belknap House and The Carey House in January, and wants to donate an equal amount to the Humane Society. FBLA also held a pet supplies drive.
Friday was Spirit Day and students wore FBLA gear or blue.
The week's goal was to lifts Laker Spirits and build community cohesiveness.
