MEREDITH — The Meredith Public Library will be hosting a special event filled with fun and holiday shopping opportunities on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. called Last Minute Christmas Markets: Holiday Craft & Vendor Fair.

A variety of local artisans and businesses will be on-hand providing plenty of seasonal and everyday items for sale.  Craft and vendor tables will be set up on the first floor in the library Function Room and on the second floor in the Maker Space.

Visitors can enter the library's regular Cozy Little Christmas Raffle for free on the first floor along with a separate free raffle available just for visiting the second floor vendors.  The special second floor raffle winner will be drawn from entries gathered only during the event.

The decorated library Historic Room on the first floor will host Christmas carols by the fire as well as a holiday storytime.  The festivities there start at 10 a.m. with a reading of “The Polar Express.”  Between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., members of local choirs (including those from the First Baptist Church of Meredith, the First Congregational Church of Meredith, and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church) as well as musicians from the Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra) will perform by the fireplace.

Baked goods will be available as well as a hot cocoa bar featuring different flavors and toppings.  There will be a gift wrapping station for items bought at the event and a holiday book sale featuring convenient seasonal bundles.

Finally, several library-themed gifts will be available including the 2025 Meredith Public Library keepsake ornaments (designed and manufactured in Meredith by PineandBerry.com), prints and greeting cards featuring a lovely painting of the library by Dr. Marc Bard, a cute stuffed dog with a shirt that says "I love to read," and some vintage media items including DVDs and a history of the library from inception to 1989.

Proceeds from sales of all these items go to the Friends of the Library which use the funds to pay for programming such as guest speakers and supplies.
