GILFORD — Gilford’s Old Home Day would not be complete without the Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale, pie sale, and raffle, so mark the calendars for Aug. 28-29. Homemade pie, Sawyer’s ice cream, books, puzzles and media will all be for sale starting Friday, Aug. 28 from 3 to 6 p.m. The sale continues Saturday, Aug. 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This year, the winning raffle ticket holder will take home a paddleboard (and all the accessories) to enjoy on any of the nearby lakes. It is on display at the library and tickets can be purchased at the library and until noon on Aug. 29.

The pie sale will take place on the Potter Hill side of the library, and the book sale is located a short walk beyond under the tents at the garage (follow the signs).

The Friends love to support the Gilford Public Library, and the Old Home Day sale is their biggest fundraiser. Proceeds raised purchase passes to local museums, fund reading programs, and support various programs and events throughout the year.

Anyone wishing to learn more about what the Friends of the Library are invited to attend monthly meetings held at the library on the third Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m.
