WOLFEBORO — This July, Makers Mill invites fiber arts enthusiasts and curious beginners to explore two hands-on classes that celebrate creativity, learning, and the joy of making.

Certified felting instructor Christine Greenwood will lead the class Birds-Eye View: Carolina Wren Felted Tapestry on Sunday, July 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants will use flat-needle felting techniques to blend colorful wool fibers into a realistic 2D tapestry of a Carolina wren. Beginners are welcome, and Greenwood offers support for anyone with mobility limitations. Greenwood taught art for 37 years and discovered her passion for felting after creating her first wool mushroom in 2020.

Then, on Fridays, July 25 and Aug. 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., advanced beginner crocheters can join Deb Halstead for the Crochet Carry-All Bag Workshop. This two-part class teaches participants to follow a simple pattern and work with bulky yarn to create a sturdy, versatile bag. Students should know how to chain stitch and single crochet and bring their own materials. Halstead has been creating since childhood and brings decades of experience in crochet, basketmaking, and homesteading.
