LACONIA — Family Promise of the Lakes Region is proud to announce the hiring of its first Executive Director, Nicole Shedd, marking a significant step forward as the organization prepares to launch services for local families later this summer.
Shedd holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and a Master of Education from Concordia University, and she is currently pursuing a doctorate in education. She brings a strong track record of leadership and a deep commitment to supporting children and families. In her new role, she will lead the development of programs focused on homelessness prevention and long-term housing stability for families in the Lakes Region.
“I’m excited to bring my experience and passion for serving children and families to this important work,” Shedd said. “Every family deserves stable housing and the opportunity to build lasting independence. I’m honored to help launch Family Promise services in the Lakes Region and to partner with the community to make that vision a reality.”
Family Promise of the Lakes Region, the newest site in Family Promise’s national network, is set to begin serving families in late August. Its initial focus will be on eviction prevention and shelter diversion, providing support and resources to help families remain in their homes whenever possible and avoid entering shelter. While services have not yet begun, the organization is actively building community partnerships and preparing for a strong launch.
Family Promise of the Lakes Region is part of Family Promise, the nation’s leading organization focused on preventing and ending family homelessness.
