Investing in the future of the building trades
The $45,000 raised through the 2026 Parade of Homes will support LRBRA’s workforce development initiatives, helping address the ongoing need for skilled workers in NH’s construction and building industries.
A cornerstone of these efforts is LRBRA’s partnership with the Huot Technical Center in Laconia, where students in Building Construction and Plumbing & Heating/HVAC programs gain hands-on, real-world training under the supervision of industry professionals. Through the annual student-built Huot Tiny House projects, students develop practical trade skills while gaining experience in the construction process and exposure to potential career pathways.
LRBRA also supports the next generation of industry professionals through scholarships, educational opportunities, and connections between students and local employers. Its Tool Box scholarship program helps recipients obtain tools needed for their trade education and future careers. Partnerships with local businesses and industry professionals further create opportunities for mentorship, networking, and career exploration.
“The Parade of Homes allows us to celebrate the incredible work of our members while creating meaningful opportunities for students pursuing careers in the trades. Every ticket purchased, sponsorship secured, and volunteer hour contributed helps move that mission forward.” said Lorella Volpe, executive officer of the Lakes Region Builders & Remodelers Association.
A community effort
LRBRA extends its sincere thanks to the participating builders, homeowners, sponsors, professional judges, volunteers, Parade Committee members, and guests who made the 20th annual event possible.
Opening homes to the public requires extensive planning, coordination, and collaboration. From preparing properties and showcasing design details to welcoming visitors throughout the weekend, participating builders play an essential role in creating an exceptional experience for Parade guests.
The association also recognizes its sponsors for their continued generosity and commitment to the local building industry. Their support helps make the event possible and advances LRBRA’s broader mission of strengthening the trades workforce.
The Lakes Region Parade of Homes is a self-guided home tour featuring new construction, remodels, and virtual home experiences across the Lakes Region. The event offers visitors inspiration for their own homes while connecting them with local builders, suppliers, designers, and subcontractors for future projects. It also provides a platform for industry professionals to showcase their work and support the next generation of building tradespeople.
