LACONIA — Laconia native Ashley Marsh is running for Miss New Hampshire in April 2020. She holds the local title of Miss Winnipesaukee. She has been competing in the Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Program for three years and has been awarded over $30,000 to help fund her education. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Plymouth State University and will graduate in May 2020 with her master's degree from Springfield College in Mass.

To be eligible to compete in Miss New Hampshire, Marsh must raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The money she raises will go directly to Boston Children’s Hospital. Marsh visited the hospital for the past three years for their annual Prince and Princess Day and played games, made crafts and painted nails for patients.

Marsh is hosting a basketball clinic to help raise funds for BCH. Her clinic, Making Hoops for Miracles, will be held Sunday, Nov. 10, at Gilford Youth Center. This is her second clinic. Her first clinic raised $1,000, and she hopes to exceed that amount this year. The clinic will have separate sessions for kindergarten through fourth graders from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and fifth through eighth graders from 1-2:30 p.m.

The cost of the clinic is a $25 donation, with limited spots available. To sign up, email ashleymarsh1011@gmail.com with child’s name and grade.
