GILFORD — The Central New Hampshire Amateur Radio Club will host its annual Amateur Radio Field Day event from 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, until 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, at the Belknap County Sportsman’s Club 182 Lily Pond Road, in Gilford. The facility where the event is taking place is in-doors, air conditioned, a full kitchen and bathrooms. Food will be for sale.Â
This event serves as both a demonstration and a hands-on opportunity to experience the world of amateur radio.
Field Day is an opportunity for amateur radio operators to showcase their skills, participate in simulated emergency situations, and promote public awareness about radio communications during disasters. It’s a chance to see how amateur radio serves as a vital form of communication when traditional networks fail.
